FertiCare Prague can offer you a comprehensive donor program with no wait times. Your treatment can begin as soon as you complete the initial examinations.

Fertility treatments using donor gametes can be done with:

Donor eggs

Women who are unable to conceive using their own oocytes, for whatever reason, can receive fertility treatments using donor eggs from our donor program.

Egg donation is legal and strictly regulated in the Czech Republic.
Our egg donors are young women between 18 and 32 years of age. Most often they are university students or young mothers.

All donors must undergo certain examinations (gynecological, psychological, etc.). Genetic screening and STD testing (HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, syphilis) are also very important.

Egg donation is an IVF / ICSI treatment where eggs from an anonymous donor are fertilized using sperm from the patient’s partner or from a donor. The resulting embryos belong to the couple and are prepared for embryo transfer. Any excess embryos can be frozen and stored in a cryobank. They are available for the patient’s use in the next cycle, if necessary. (Frozen Embryo Transfer).

Under Czech and EU legislation, oocyte donation is a completely voluntary act. Donors are not entitled to financial compensation under any circumstances. The donation process is fully anonymous for both donor and recipient, including the children born through this method.

As a medical institution, we are required to keep donors’ medical documentation on archive for a period of 30 years. FertiCare Prague is listed as an institute for reproductive medicine. We are licensed by the Czech State Institute for Drug Control (SUKL) and are subject to strict, regular inspections by public authorities (SUKL, Czech Ministry of Health).

Treatment using donor oocytes is indicated in the following cases:

  • Post-chemotherapy
  • Chromosomal aberrations / chromosomal anomalies / other genetic disorders
  • Premature menopause
  • Insufficient ovarian function
  • Low oocyte function / ovarian reserve
  • Polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes

We’ll be happy to provide additional information and answer any questions you may have.

Egg donation - stories of our donors

Some of our donors talk about their experience with our egg donation program.

Donor embryos

If pregnancy cannot be achieved using sperm from the partner or the patient’s own oocytes, we can offer treatment using embryos from our donors. FertiCare Prague has a system for finding suitable donors, which means wait times are minimal. The IVF physician chooses a suitable egg and sperm donor based on a questionnaire filled out by the recipient and her partner. We always do our best to choose donors as close as possible to the desired phenotype parameters. If the recipients are not from Europe and only want donors from their own ethnic background, it may take a while longer to find suitable donors.

Under Czech and EU legislation, embryo donation is a completely legal act. The procedure and treatment is the same as in the case of donor oocytes and sperm. Donors may not receive compensation for their donation under any circumstances. The donation process is fully anonymous for both donors and recipients, including the children born through this method.
